Lumiere means light in French, and light represents hope. Our motto is 'Light the Way', which means guiding the children to the light, to hope
To create a conducive environment for every children to learn and study. Also, to make sure all children are given a chance to fulfill their dream.
Our mission is to raise funds to support the education of all children including refugees for them to have a sense of future, help them to extricate themselves from a life of uncertainly and poverty, and to empower them to become contributing members of society.
- To raise awareness of the hardships and trauma faced by refugee children and the help needed from refugee children that exist in Malaysia.
- To address the issues concerning the accessibility of education for refugee children, as well as the support and care that can help them to nurture and to grow up to live their lives to the fullest potential in society.
- To prevent future happenings, crimes, and war by giving proper education.
- To educate the fortunate children in the society the importance on education and how much of an impact it can bring to society.
In May 2009, Miss Deborah and Miss Shikeen led the establishment of Fugee School by collaborating with Shafie to transform his local initiative to one which educated over 100 underprivileged students at no cost.
Destiny Centre Klang
The Destiny Centre is a refugee daycare and pre-learning centre for underprivileged children. Currently, there are around 35 refugee kids in the Destiny Centre between the age of 2-7 years old. The kids as well as the teaches/caretakers are mostly from Myanmar and Pakistan
